SQL Farms Releases Distributed Querying and Auto-Data Collection for Large SQL Environments

Reston, VA (June 29, 2007) -- SQL Farms, Inc. announced
earlier today an agile framework and automated tools to retrieve data from
many databases and servers and store the aggregated data in one or more
central databases. The new technology is part of SQL Farms' flagship
product called SQL Farm Combine(TM). With this tool, users can push
changes and update multiple databases and servers in parallel as well as
run distributed queries and get data from many SQL servers simultaneously,
all in one click or on a scheduled basis.Using this technology DBAs and
developers can write SELECT statements or SQL scripts as if they were
running them against a single database. The user configures SQL Farm
Combine(TM) and tells the tool where to run the code to get the data and
where to save the results. SQL Farm Combine(TM) automatically distributes
the code, aggregates the data, and writes the results to pre-configured
destination databases. The entire data collection and storage process can
be run on demand in a single click, or can be scheduled to automatically
pull data from all databases and servers. The data collection features in
Combine are completely portable and can be easily moved from development
to QA and Production, or to remote datacenters. The engine can be
installed in any machine on the network or can be invoked using
redistributable components. "SQL Farm Combine(TM) is an agile framework
for working with many databases and servers and allows enterprises to
scale out without losing the ability to access their data or easily manage
their environments," said Thomas Goff, Co-founder and CTO of SQL Farms.
"Before this release you could run a distributed query and view all the
results in the user interface. The new features are an extension of this
framework and allow users to easily build custom monitoring and reporting
applications using our data collection engines. "A free 21-day evaluation
of SQL Farm Combine(TM) is available on SQL Farms' website at
http://www.sqlfarms.com Sample projects for automated data collection and
custom monitoring are also available for download and let users monitor
SQL jobs across all servers in the datacenter, as well as monitor database
files size, file groups, and growth.
