Just about everyone has heard of yoga, but what is it?
There are many systems of yoga, but they fall into four basic categories. All the systems have the same goals:
Yoga exercises strengthen the body, give it more flexibility and more energy, at the same time calming the mind and giving it more tranquillity. Conventional exercising expends energy through strenuous activity. In Yoga classes, students claim they are more relaxed with a feeling of inner strength after Yoga.
The practice and study of yoga assist in bringing a sense of balance of body and mind. Most practices in the west focus on the physical side of yoga. Though, yoga offers breathing exercises and meditation as well as harmony to the body.
If you teach Yoga, should you be a vegan? Are dairy foods and eggs okay? What about goats, chicken, or fish? Yes, some Yoga teachers do eat goat, but not beef. Some people still claim that fish feel no pain, but I never heard that from a Yogi.
The responsibility just comes with leadership and being self-employed. An independent mind-set is ingrained through the daily routine of handling your own affairs. You are in charge of your own finances, health, career, and more.
