It's all BS, what These Internet Marketers are telling you.
Almost all of the marketers out there today are telling you to find a niche, like gardening or back pain or something like one of these. They say that there are too many people right now selling advice on making money but when you really sit down and think about it what are people looking for when they get on the net? They are looking for a way that they can make additional income or to replace their current income completely. This is the largest niche.
Affiliate Marketing is probably the most talked about whether or not you have a product of your own or just want products to market. If you wanted to break this down into the greatest common denominator you could choose as a niche to only concentrate on Clickbank products in the affiliate marketing arena.
You can then sell these products on Ebay or Yahoo auctions if you don't have another source of potential buyers. With Ebay you can even set up your own Ebay store and then you would not even need another web site at first. I will always search Ebay when somebody sends me an email about a new product. Chances are that this new product will be listed by a seller and pricing is usually better than what I get in my Inbox.
If you need a web site you may get one with your ISP. I know that mine does this as well as some of the bigger ones otherwise Google will give you a free site. These free sites have web page builders for you to create a site with and some of them will allow you to create a great looking Blog using a product like Wordpress.
Don't let the idea of having to create ebooks, reports, or a newsletter scare you. Publishing a book or posting to your blog are basically the same. Always remember to write like you would talk to another person face to face. These days with what is called RSS people can choose to be notified every time you make a new post to your site.
Some of these marketers are telling you that these days you don't even need your own web site but I totally disagree with this. Your web site can be something as simple as an online resume. Regarding a domain name just go out and get johnsmith.com and replace John Smith with your own name.
The two best ways to get great links and traffic are by writing articles and pay per click. When you write an article submi it to some of these article directories that are all over the Web. Forget about all these so called traffic generation software programs out there and instead just spend the same money on an Adword campaign with a popular search engine like Google.
There are so many niches that are inside the niche of how to make money online. You could choose the smaller niche of affiliate marketing, email marketing, copywriting, web design, blogging, web video, web audio, and the list goes on. Even these smaller niches like that of blogging is going to do better for you than the niche of making birdhouses.
